Bar-B-Que

Boogie Woogie...guess what your Daddy did today??? He bbq'd for Mommy! She has been craving bbq hot dogs so today after doing some shopping, he bought a grill and fired it up. I must say I was impressed and it was so nice to eat a Daddy created meal, lol.

Today was a good day. Mommy and Daddy cleaned house, and relaxed a little. Then we went to registering for the wedding. It was pretty fun. We picked out some cool things that I hope we really get. We also went to look for a mattress and Mommy discovered her sleep number is somewhere between 45 and 70 depending on the pillow top. Daddy wasn't too please with the price of the mattresses Mommy LOVED, but hopefully he will see its beneficial for me and you. We need our rest and our needs change on a hourly basis so having a bed that can grow or deflate with us is necessary.

What we did decide is we need to upgrade to a King bed so we will have room when you come to sleep with us. Though Daddy does not think this will happen often, lets see who's really the boss when you arrive.

Anyhoo, your sweet Uncle Kevin is here watching the game with Daddy, so I'm going to take a nap. I love you sooo much!

11 Weeks Today!!!

Hello My Sweet Baby,

Today you are 11 weeks and you are making big changes. You are about the size of a plum now, and are moving all around. Though you are too small for me to feel it, I know there is a party going on in my uterus. You are learning to swallow and how to coordinate your hands almost enough to touch your face!

My morning sickness has eased for the most part, but my pregnancy tiredness is still alive and kicking. I'm taking the advice of your very wise Mema Franie and allowing myself to be pregnant and tired and sleepy and a teaspoon of lazy. Some women can work a 10 hour day, come home, cook dinner, wash clothes, clean up, and still be pregnant. Well, I feel sorry for those women who do all that, lol. Cuz your Mommy right now is just not going to be her. And doesn't feel those women who are her should be her because her needs a nap!

Ok, I digress...back to you...you are awesome and your Daddy is so happy the first trimester is nearing its end. 2 more weeks and hopefully we'll see some light at the end of the tunnel. I'm pasting your 11 week photos. I love you!

Mommy's Belly at 11 Weeks

Little Boogie, everyone says (who hasn't seen her) that Mommy is probably overreacting about how much she is showing recently. I have attached some photos from this morning (before I even ate breakfast) to show Mommy and you. It looks like in the photos not only is Mommy's belly getting bigger, but her behind is getting there too, lol.

I think I look pretty cute for 7 am with no makeup and about 3 hours of sleep. I'll try to have Daddy take photos each week in this outfit so we can see how big you and Mommy are growing.

Mommy on Mental Vacation

Hi My Little 2 inch bundle of joy. I know you are wondering...what has been going on? Why haven't you been writing Mommy? What was up with Daddy's alleged blog about me being 10 weeks, but more about March Madness???

I know, I know and Mommy is sorry. I have been soooooo tired lately. Mommy is currently winding down on her current contract and has so many loose ends to tie up. During the day, at the end of the day, she has no more energy for quick, cute, things to say...or to clean up, lol. So, she has been resting and gave Daddy authoring rights for a week, but if we leave it up to him, you'll know more about sports than about your new developments...(he really is banking on you being a boy).

Anyhoo, in addition to you being very excited about March Madness, you also have no more webbed feet and hands. You have little sweet perfect fingers and toes that Mommy can't wait to kiss. You have little nails growing and little peachfuzz on your body. Your heart is pumping blood now and due to you growing so strong, Mommy now has to take an Iron supplement to make sure you and I get everything we need.

Daddy and I are going to check out the hospital you are possibly going to be born at on Sunday. I am so excited. We get to meet the staff, see the rooms, inquire about private quarters (which Mommy DEF will need) and see the unit where you will sleep:-) Its in Virginia, which Daddy isn't too happy about, but Mommy LOVES Virginia...its for lovers.

Anyhoo, after our visit Mommy is taking Daddy on a date to the Mary J. Blige/Jay-Z concert. It should be a great fun day. Now, Mommy is going to ask you in advance to let her have energy allllll day on Sunday. The other week at the Jill Scott/Raheem Devaughn concert you were ready to leave after about an hour. Mommy wants to watch this whole thing ok:-)

I promise I will take time out to write more. Can't make any promises about Daddy until around...mid April.

10 Weeks (Daddy Edition)

Whats up kid. This is your father?, your Daddy?, Pop?, I havent figured out what youll call me yet, but thats ok. Im writing today because you are now 10 weeks old in there. And apparently from what I can tell, ten weeks means you make mommy crazy, lol. Just kidding, Ill get in trouble for that one . Youre getting bigger and bigger and looking more like your daddy everyday. Your mommy's been a little sick today, Im sure its because youre just excited about MARCH MADNESS, Go Carolina!, but she'll be fine, hopefully she'll get some sleep tonight and tomorrow she will feel better. HOPEFULLY!:)

I posted a picture of what you may look like this week. Pretty cool aint it...isn't it, I mean.

Not a whole bunch to say, just keep growing, stay healthy, take it easy on mommy, and I'll see u in October.

5 AM...Really?

Good Morning Lil' Boog,
I guess you needed some attention earlier than normal today. You woke Mommy up around %AM and are against her going back to sleep. Since, you actually are the boss of me right now (and only right now:-)

Though you aren't up stretching and moving around in there, you must be doing something that has Mommy's metabolism working. I'm very thirsty and feel like I could eat at the breakfast buffet at Golden Corral (don't get any ideas Daddy Boog...I still hate buffets).

Mommy actually had a late morning meeting and planned on sleeping in a little longer, but I guess I'm up now so will go to work first and then to the meeting.

So...yeah, thanks for the morning wake up call my sweet precious demanding fetus. Cheers to a greatly productive day!

9 Weeks and Going!

Lil' Boogie...only 31 weeks to go, lol. You are now the size of large delicious grape (but between me and you, you are even bigger).

Your heart is almost complete and you even have little teeth starting to bud. Your little tail is completely gone (thank God) . You are now a fetus and not a little amphibian. Your organs and nerves are developing wonderfully!

You even have fully formed eyes, but they will be fused shut for about 16 more weeks. Now, the placenta is producing hormones for you so now I will hopefully start getting back normal. I'm sure your Daddy will be happy with that, lol.

Now that your nerve endings have started building, Mommy is going to start a little ritual. Every day, maybe twice for at least 10 minutes, I'm going to sit in a quiet place, put my arms around you (invetro) and focus on my hopes and dreams for you. I'm going to think about my intentions for you as a parent and what I want us both to get from each other. This is going to be our Mommy and Me time!

I love you, and keep up the good work!

You were amazing!!!

LIL BOOG! Me and your Daddy saw you today and you were soooo amazing! The doctor didn't even have to look for you, you just popped right up on the screen like bam! And then you know what you did, you started waving your little arm buds at Mommy and Daddy! I think you were just as excited for us to see you as we were!!!

I didn't know I could LOVE you more, but now...its confirmed...I DO! I LOVE YOU and can't wait for you to get here!!! I heard your heart beat, 180 beats per minute!!! Your Daddy seems to think you have the heart of a champion already!!!

You were so alert and amazing and I could've just sat there and looked at you all day. I'm attaching a picture tonight, but will attach all of your pictures tomorrow!!!

I think you look beautiful already! You look just like me at your age, so alert and intelligent! You are the best baby ever!

Boogs First Photo Shoot!

Guess what Lil' Boogie...???? Later this afternoon Mommy and Daddy are going to her Doctor to get your first sonogram!!!!!! OMG!!!! Mommy is sooooo excited, she can barely hold it in at work, lol. This will be when Mommy sees you as probably a little...bulb on the screen and she gets to hear your heart beating!!!!

Mommy and Daddy can't wait. I'm pretty sure Daddy is going to tear up a little, though he says he wont, lol. Anyhoo, I can't wait to see you and hear you and confirm you are as perfect as I think you are! I bet your photos are going to be the best sonogram photos ever! The Doctor will probably want to pin them up on her wall of fame!

Week End

Mommy had a really fun weekend Lil' Boogie! Daddy let her sleep all evening on Friday and on Saturday she had all her favorite girlfriends over (your soon to be Aunties) for a Brunch.

Mommy LOVES hosting little parties and showing off her culinary skills, but I must say, I don't have the same energy I used to for it, lol. Though I had a ball, when the party ended, my legs and feet were aching something terrible. It was even kinda hard to sleep last night.

But I must say it was all worth it! I'm sure you felt it too, lol. Mommy laughed and ate and had a ball with the ladies. Daddy left to go on a "mandate" with his buddies, but he did come back to hang out with the ladies a little.

I'm not sure how or if Mommy will be able to host any more ladies events like she used to, but I'm glad I did that one. Everyone can't wait until you get here and be apart of the events too!

Insomniac Embroyo

Sooooooo....I'm not sure what type of party you were having in Mommy's womb last night, but you were overactive and that meant no sleep. Mommy could not get a wink until around 4 AM and had to wake up around 7 am...

Needless to say Mommy woke up with a splitting headache and I'm sure you were just very content after your busy night. Mommy has been no good all day because she is exhausted and still has a lot to do to get ready for her Brunch tomorrow.

I'm not sure what you were building in there last night, but hopefully construction will be on regular business hours and be done by 5 PM.

Red Beans and Rice at 8 Weeks!

Boogie, today you are 8 weeks and I'm so excited. Mommy is 2 months pregnant. Though her belly looks like she is double that, lol. Mommies uterus has grown to the size of a grapefruit and you are getting bigger too!

They say you are the size of a kidney bean this week, but that seems smaller than a blueberry, but I'm guessing they mean in length. This week your torso is growing, you have a little tip for your nose and you have little elbows and knee joints poking out.

Mommy only has 4 more days till the first ultrasound! I'm so excited! I can't wait to hear your little heart beating and get confirmation you are in there. Daddy tells Mommy not to worry, but thats what Mommy's do:-)

Baby Stories

Hi baby,

Mommy is home today and has been trying to take it easy. I've already had a full day at the office this week, so my day off is such a pleasure. I've taken the time to do some laundry today, but from the looks of it, Daddy has way more clothes than Mommy, lol. We are going to have to do some MAJOR consolidating when you come because I'm sure you will have lots more than both of us.

You haven't been giving Mommy any trouble this week, but Mommy is really tired. I've been watching Baby Story and Birth Day on TLC/Discovery all day and its so interesting to me now. A lot of these um..."interesting" women choose to make a point and not use any medicine to birth their babies. They call that having your baby "natural".

In your Mommy's opinion, having your baby natural is anything short of an Alien scooping down from out of space and morphing your baby out with a magic wand through your belly button. Why women think they are making us Moms who want the meds feel bad is beyond me.

I want both me and you to have the least amount of stress possible on your birth day and I don't know what could be more stressful than a full human head (and shoulders) coming of out Mommy's very cute delicate petite body without injecting LOTS of Happy Juice:-) I will need the Happy Juice. Your Daddy seems to think Mommy is very strong and will just pop you right out and I hope he's right. You may not know it but your Daddy is self proclaimed as "God's Favorite" so I hope he's been letting him know what expects to happen on your birth day and they have everything taken care of when Mommy gets ready to go into labor, lol.

Sunday Funday

Today is Sunday and Mommy and Daddy went to church. It was your first time going to church and you behaved great! The service isn't too long and its always relevant so Mommy loves it.

Daddy made Mommy and you a delicious and healthy breakfast and then went to the b-ball game with Sweet Uncle Kevin:-)

Mommy will probably go over your Auntie Tarsha and Ms. Doris (your possible Nanny) for a lil BBQ. Mommy LOVES when they grill and hopes you do too, lol.

Mommy had some big intentions on cleaning up the house from top to bottom today, but doesn't have the passion for that right now, lol. She can't wait until your Grandma gets here so she can help her. You are going to LOOOOVE her! She is very thorough and help Mommy with all those things she just doesn't have the energy to do. Only about...3 weeks until you meet her...invetro of course, lol.

Leap Day Surprise!!!!!

LIL BOOGIE! GUESS WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY? Your Daddy "officially" proposed!!!Basically that means Daddy asked Mommy to be with him forever and ever and she got a great new piece of jewelery!

Daddy totally surprised Mommy! He took her out for a meal I love, but could barely get down, lol. And then when we were leaving the restaurant we started our lovey dovey talk in the car. Why do you love me, do you want to marry me one day, why, etc... We talk like this all the time. I'm sure you'll hear it soon enough:-) And then....BAM! Daddy pulled out the most beautiful ring for Mommy!!!

It is such a special day/year because he proposed of February 29, 2008 and that date only comes around once every four years. You remember when I told you about the year you are being born in has one extra day...well yesterday was the day!! Your Daddy is soooo great! I hope if you are a boy your turn out to be just like him and if you are a girl you are lucky enough to find a man who will make you just as happy as Daddy makes Mommy!!!

Mommy and Daddy are legally going to be a family. The wedding date is set for May 25th, 2008. Though Mommy didn't need a ring or anything else to make her love Daddy more and know that she is going to be with him, forever, but I must admit...I did fall a little bit further in love with him.

Needless to say this was all too much excited for me and you yesterday so shortly after getting in the house, instead of celebrating with maybe...champagne...Mommy need a nap! But she was happy in her sleep!
