20 weeks!

Kennedy (that's you name and we love it). You are 20 weeks and Mommy can feel you more than ever!

Last week was your first trip to the west coast. Mommy and Daddy got married in Las Vegas, NV and it was great. The weather cooled down for us and everything! Mommy def walked way too much and ate at all the wrong times, but you made it through!

Mommy and you are "officially" Smith's! Brandiss Rae Smith and Kennedy Rae Smith, that sounds awesome!

Today, Mommy and Daddy went to your 20 week appointment. We got to see you again and you are as usual perfect! You already have perfect fingers and toes, they are all there and look awesome. No club foot, no defects, perfect! You have a perfect head, perfect body, and everything is on target for you to be 40 weeks.

Mommy was so excited to see you she forgot to see how long you were and how much you weigh, but I'm guessing you are about 9-11 oz, and about 10 inches long from foot to heel...about the length of a banana. You had a full belly and bladder which means you are digesting good and eating which is awesome and Mommy gained 8lbs so finally, we both are eating good!

I asked your Daddy to bring your new ultrasound picture up here, but in true Daddy form, he's hardheaded and hasn't so I'm going to make sure he posts it later.

We love you Kennedy!

Your latest snapshoot!

Here's a picture of you!!! This is of you at 17 weeks. Look at the lips on you already! You must get those from Mommy and Daddy! You look perfect and I can't wait to see you in real life. In a few weeks Daddy and I will be getting a 3D ultrasound where we can see even more of your features. It'll be awesome.

Yesterday, May 18, Daddy and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary of when we first met. We went back to the scene of the crime, lol. Its changed a lot, but we had a good dinner. I'm so glad we were at the right place at the right time last year because you were a product of our meeting.

This weekend Mommy and Daddy are also getting married! You will be there which is too cute. I can't wait because Mommy need a vacation and Daddy does too. And we will officially be The Smiths!

ITS A GIRL!!! 18 weeks

THAT'S RIGHT, YOU HEARD RIGHT...YOU ARE A GIRL! Though if you are reading this you probably already know your gender, lol.

Lil Boogie now has a name...your Daddy and I are thinking about Kennedy...Kenny for short! How are you liking that? I hope you love it because Mommy talks to you all the time now! Kennedy this, and Kennedy that!

I must admit Mommy and Daddy thought you were a boy, just because, but your new ultrasound pix looks just like me...or what I looked like at 17 weeks invetro, lol.

I'm so happy I will have a little Lady to raise. And I promise as much as your Daddy tries, I will not let him put you in a helmet or cleats!

So guess whats happening with you this week. Being you are a girl, you have a uterus in my uterus. Crazy huh! One day, when you are about...40, you will be able to use that uterus to create little boogies of your own. I think with all the increases in estrogen Mommy has been getting a little emotional. Something about your Mommy is she hardly ever cries, and today, she couldn't hold back tears on the metro. Something about a staple and her hair being really big and nappy, but it brought her to tears. It was kinda funny in retrospect, but these hormones are turning Mommy into a mess.

I think the crying thingy may linger. I hear Mommy's cry a lot at little things...who knew!

Anyhoo, i'm so happy you doing well in there. Your heartbeat is strong and awesome and I saw your little bootie in the ultra sound! Too cute!

17 Weeks...Sono/Ultra Day!

Boogie Woogie,

Today you are 17 weeks young and Mommy is going in for a check up. Over the weekend you gave Mommy and Daddy a scare with some pains in her side and back so the Doctor wants to take a look to make sure everything is okay...especially after Daddy frantically paged her at midnight on Saturday, lol.

All of you screening test came back negative and you are in deed as perfect as I knew you would be. No genetic defects, no chormosoneal issues, just a perfectly healthy lil baby (girl or boy).

Anyhoo, Mommy and Daddy have been in major discussion about how the body works and your Daddy, though very cute, thinks you are a fish...or are living like one since you floating around in all that good fluid. He also thinks that you and I are linked through dual end umbilical cords and though I get how he can imagine these things, we want him to be very informed, at least by the time you are...18 and he has the conversation with you on how baby's are born.

Mommy is going to get the book she got for Uncle Ryan when you little cousin Joss was born. Hopefully between bathroom breaks Daddy can brush up on our anatomy, lol.

So, at 17 weeks what are you doing...lets see....GROWING!!!! You weigh about 5 ozs and are about 5 inches long!!! That's about the span of Mommy's hand spread all the way out! You can also now move your joints because they are getting stronger and can really start to Boogie! Your senses are developing, like hearing and of light.

Mommy, though she said she was not going to, bought a Doppler so she can hear you in addition to feel you. We are going to have so much fun with that.

Anyhoo, below is your picture and maybe later I will know if you will be boy boogie or girl boogie!!!!

Testing for Lil Boogie

Yesterday, Mommy had her 16 week checkup. The doctor gave Mommy tests to make sure everything is progressing well with you. Of course you are fine! And Daddy and I are sure of it!

Mommy also lost 2 pounds...crazy since my belly is getting bigger and bigger (see picture). I think you are going to be a big healthy baby and Mommy will need to eat more to keep up with your production. Though my appetite isn't big, I'm going to have to make myself eat at least every 2 hours to keep up with you and Mr. Placenta (your life line).

I also talked to the doctor about my anxiety, I know I shouldn't have any. But that's what Mommy's do...worry, lol. She eased my fears, assured me she'd be there every step of the way and even suggested a bigger hospital that may make Mommy feel more comfy. Daddy and I have a tour on May 18th which is also the anniversary of the day we met! Exciting!

The doctor is making us wait until May 21st to find out if you are a boy or girl to make sure there are no false positives. That's only 3 more weeks. I can't wait!!!
