Pigtails and Ponys

So, guess what! I can finally get my hair in ponytails! Not one big one yet, but I can do pigtails!!! I've been wanting a pony tail for sooooo long!

This weekend DH gave me a whole day to do me and he kept the kid! Whew, that was awesome...and rare so I took my time getting ready. Here is my latest photo shoot on my way to run errands.

This is also after my 7lb weight loss!

And of course no photo shoot would be right if Lil' K doesn't jump in the pix too!

That cheese she is working in the pix cracks me up every time! I love it!

Two Dolla Tuesdays

Ha! That was the commercial that used to come on back in Detroit promoting The Legend or some other random night club.

My new Tuesday is no longer the nightclub, but the thrift store. I used to shop at the thrift store back in high school and this was the reason I was so unique and different from everyone. I was probably the only 11th grader rocking polyester slacks and blouses, lol.

I found this new thrift store by my house, a Goodwill that has 25% off on Tuesday.

I love it. Though the stuff is already cheap, getting a blazer for $3 instead of $4 is just bi-winning if you ask me. Check out your local thrift stores to see if they have any similar deals!

What the F’ Fridays: Skinny Pants Slacks

So…I work in a heavily populated area of a very transient town. Very metro accessible to everyone. Lot of tourists. Lots of random people. And I love style, I love to see what those zany kids are doing. I sometimes get ideas from the girls, or get transported back to a Cindy Louper video looking at the fashion. It’s fun right now.

However, you want to know what is not fun. Skinny stretch jeans, or slacks on men. Ewwww *in my Nikki Minaj voice*. I mean seriously. How can something be extremely tight and tucked in and sagging all at the same time? Again. Ewwww. Shoes to big, hats to big, shirts too tight, pants…painted on.

My point is this. Women wear skinny pants to uh…look skinny. To seemingly have super slim fronts and padunkadunk backs. To accentuate your booty and thighs. That is the by-product of wearing anything skinny or stretch. Men…I could only imagine are wearing them to do the same thing…*crickets*. . . . . … Are they trying to accentuate their packages or lack there off? Or are they showing off their thighs and humps? And if so…I’m so confused.

I see men who think they are stylish at work with the skin tights on in slack form and I can't help but to think to myself…I’m pretty sure you have a yeast infection. Because, as we know...that is what happens when you are sitting down at your office with skin tights on. I don’t even wear skin tights to work. 1. Because its hot as hell and 2. Because I don’t like excessiveness on my undercarriage. I like to let it breath! And men, I thought ya’ll had to do the same?

I’m pretty sure, maybe in about 10 years…we will see the results of the skin tights. The Skinny Pant revolution will yield a generation of impotent men who will have no offspring all because they feel in love with jeggins.

Really. What the F?!?

Sorta Shorty

So this is my new summer look…

I have all the pieces to this outfit (except the clunky shoes…which I’m a little on the fence about) but pretty much this is the look.

I love jean shorts, with an off the shoulder shirt and stockings. My stockings will def be lace or some other type of fun print, but this look is what I’m wearing.

I know…you may be thinking…its how…why the tights…well I love it. One I don’t quite love my legs in shorts to begin with. I love my legs in skirts, but shorts…eh. But shorts with tights give it some flavor. Its playful, yet sexy.  I recently bought my first pair of shorts from forever 21. The are the shorts equivalent to jeggins…hmmm shorggins? I’ll work on that. But they fit cut, aren’t super tight on my thighs and look really cute with tights. I’m still working on the shirt, but I just may have a solution for it.

When I put the outfit together, I will post a pix for your eyes onlyJ

I have a serious affection for red lipstick. What woman doesn’t??? I want to wear red lips soooo bad, however, I feel like my lips already look like bologna meet, and red lipstick would look like that piece of red plastic around the bologna meat…i.e. unattractive!

I recently came across this article which profiles lipsticks on different shades of women and how awesome they look. I agree, each of these women have a different shade, and different shape of lip, complexion, etc. However, I still do not feel like I fit inL

I know my lips. My lips are a gloss/neutral only…or at most a chestnut lip line/florabundence (mac) gloss. No huge color definition. They are just to big and meaty I think.

I’m feeling like though, I may jump out there and try it…(again). I have tried burgendy’s which aren’t good and only make me look like I’ve been chiefing. I’ve tried pinks…which aren’t bad, but aren’t great. And I have yet to find a bam! Red. Which could be exactly what I’m missing…I’ve tried it with liner, but still…it’s its like you want to fry it up and put them between some white bread.

Stay Tuned…Muah!

Capris and Lace

Pass or fail?
This is something I've playing around with in my head for a minute. I actually want to go with shorts or roll the jeans up even higher and do fishnets and pumps. Even in the summer time. I'm thinking its a pretty hot style. I'm just really loving lace and fishnet stockings right now. And even the lace tights. I just really can't get enough of then and want to wear them with everything. I've really never been into hosiery until recently. I typically hate socks, stockings, tights, and most undergarments all together. But the sexiness factor of leg lingerie has been selling me lately.

It was a kinda cold night in DC the other day when I wore this out, so I didn't go too high on the pant legs, but next time...who knows where I'm going with this style. Stay tuned.

Weekend Brunch

So, for the past few weeks me and the ladies have been getting together for lunches/brunches on the weekend to recap our week, offer motivation to keep going through the next week, and tell hilarious stories!

This is me in the city this weekend for our meeting...

Lately, I've been in to this big flowy skirt, knee sock thing. I'm kinda loving knee socks and try to incorporate them into everything right now. You will see them more often.

Having a pow wow with friends I've realized is so important and something I've been missing. Just taking out time to meet up, get out the house and discuss things gives you a great reality check. Sometimes we go through things in live and wonder..."Is this what everyone goes through?" Typically someone, somewhere has been there done that and can provide not necessarily advice, but a back story. First hand user account of how that typically goes down. And though everyone is different, and every situation is dependent of the person going through it, its valuable if nothing else to be affirmed. To know you are not alone, and to do that while eating pancakes and sipping mimosas makes for a great time!

Trendsetters

At the recent Moschino Fall/Winter Fashion Show in Milan, this was the new trend runway style

Does it look familiar? Kinda like this shirt...

Mixed with this skirt?

Exactly! These were the outfits me and my BFF D wore for her 30th bday last month in Chi town. We knew we were trendsetters that night, but damn Moschino. You just gone duplicate the whole outfit...and we don't get nothing!

#imjustsaying. We are doing major things out here. Get ready for us. BMF girls changing the world!

Amber Rose - The BF I Never Met

So there are not that many times in life, I see pictures or hear things about someone and feel like, yeah, if we met, we'd be BF's. With my actual BF, it happens all the time. She has fake friendships with Oprah and Beyonce to name a few (she obviously has an over inflated ego right) but she talks about them like, yeah, I'm a lot like Beyonce, and if we ever met, she'd love me.

I am not sure if this only happens on vacation or if in real life, we embody the spirit of the these ladies we don't know. I currently feel that way about Amber Rose. In a recent trip to Chicago, my friends kept referring to me as Amber Rose. I believe I had embodied her spirit...and stretch pants, lol. I was rocking stretch pants, a tank top, fierce fur boots, a short leather jacket and a smile in like 5 degree weather. Extra awesome. I felt like Amber would be proud of me for being balls to the wall and looking mad cute doing it.

So you may be wondering, what I love about Amber. She and I are the only chicks that can do this...
...and look like a hit! Ok, yes, she may have a little bit more skill doing it, but I am coming into my inner Amber for real and in no time...you probably won't be able to tell the difference between me and her.

The hair, the stretch pants, the tank tops, the skirts...oh my! Bottom line...this bitch is bad. She and I would have a blast, or should I say, will have a blast when we meet. We will share stories about our times at the barber shop and how we BMF.

Yes, me and my BF may be dreaming thinking like we look like, feel like and would be friends with these ladies, but on our trips...we have fun channeling their energy. They make for awesome photo opps! I am attempting in my everyday life to channel her and my other BF's I've never met. Throw a little Amber in my sunglass game, or my shoe game, who knows where she will show up next!

Just for a fun photo montage to our BF's we never met, here is the Detroit Amber and Beyonce in Chicago about 1 or 2 years ago.
Detroit Amber and Bey about a month ago in Chicago...
So, Amber if you are reading this somewhere, holler at me. We have some catching up to do.
